The official Guinness World Record rules…
- Official title – Greatest distance to carry an egg in one week.
- Most important – If the egg is broken the attempt will end at that point!
- Only a St Ewe representative is to hold the egg through the period of the race.
- The egg used in this attempt should be a fresh, uncooked, and untreated commercially available hen’s egg.
- The egg must be carried by hand at all time. The egg must either be in motion while lifted or set down if during a rest break.
- The egg must be carried with the hands and cannot be attached to the challenger(s) by any means.
- If any participant loses control of the egg, they must recover and continue from the same spot at which the egg was dropped.
- The participant may take as many breaks as he/she wishes, but the clock must not stop at any time for any reason.
- No person under the age of 16 may attempt this record. Persons aged between 16 and 18 must be in possession of a document signed by their parent or legal guardian, giving them permission to compete.
- The food needs to be kept in hygienic conditions throughout the attempt of the record. After the attempt, the food item (if hygienically edible) must be distributed or donated for general consumption by humans.
